PUBLISHED: September 18, 2008
Caleb Steiner (left), Jacob Meads and Dylan Smith are proud to show off Paddock Elementary School's Book Fair Safari Giving Tree. Children who donate $1 can purchase a leaf to go on the tree. The money is used to purchase books from the book fair for children who normally would not be able to buy a book. Scholastic will match up to 1 million books to Kids in Distressed Situations Inc., National Center for Family Literacy and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Paddock Safari Book Fair is open during school hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 23 through 25 and during the open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 25.
