The game will be held at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing on the campus of Michigan State University. Pre-game announcements and introductions are scheduled for 1:35 p.m., with kickoff set for 2 p.m. Admission is $10 at the gate.
The game will provide a change of pace for Spears as he is listed on the East All-Stars team roster as a defensive back, rather than at the tailback position at which he was named All-State last fall.
For Spears, the All-Star game represents his last taste of live competition before joining the NCAA Division II Saginaw Valley St. Cardinals alongside Milan teammate Scott Kenyon this fall.
The East and West All-Star teams feature 44 athletes each, all 2008 graduates of a Michigan high school. All 88 hail from a different school as no school is allowed more than one member on the teams.
Spears' East squad is comprised of players from Monroe, Oakland, Wayne, St. Clair, Lapeer, Sanilac, Macomb, Huron and Tuscola counties. Players from all other counties make up the West team.
Each team is further selected by choosing eight players from Class A schools, six from Class B, four from Class C and two from Class D. Then 24 players from schools of any size are added to reach 44.
The game is organized and sponsored by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association, which also make the team selections.
