Milan's FFA program is led by Tom Stahl, a teacher at the high school.
Some students who represented Milan at the event were Andrea Armbruster, Audrey Ing, Autumn McCain, Brad Robinson, Dakota Lucio, Dale Billau, Gerald Sumner, Jenna Manor, Jordan Tomecek, Josh Ladd, Kail Kison, Nakona Anderson, Nathan McCalla, Nick Koch, Sarah Koch, Sammy McCracken and Veronica Ard.
Some of the other schools that participated include Ravenna, Corunna, Blissfield, Lenawee-Vo-Tech Center Sand Creek and Sanilac.
Students competed in such contests as horse, crop, poultry, environmental skills and dairy food judging
The students who attended spent about a month preparing. For dairy judging, the participants prepared by tasting different milks and cheeses to recognize different qualities, as well as understand the dairy product as a whole. For horse judging, the participants looked through photographs of horses and practiced finding the horses' faults and grants.
"We did awesome and our hard work was worth it," said Audrey Ing, a junior at Milan High School.
Milan's results and placement among the other competitors will come within the week.
