Discover Milan Day set

Discover Milan Day will be held May 3 and will begin with a 5K run at 7:50 a.m. starting behind the Milan Senior and Community Activity Center.

The Milan Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. in Wilson Park. In the downtown, merchants will host sidewalk sales, the Friends of the Library will hold its annual book sale and various other activities.
Wilson Park will be the site for the antique tractor show, the Back Street Cruizer's classic car show, as well as displays by Randy Wise Chevrolet and J & R Tractor.
The annual Milan Youth League parade will travel down East Main and Wabash streets at 10 a.m. and make their way to the Youth League ball fields, where they will kick off the opening of the 2008 season.
The Youth League also will hold its annual flower sales. Still in the planning stages are a car wash by the Milan Area Fire Department, the Radio Controlled Flyers Model Airplane Show and the Rubber Ducky Race.
New this year will be the Discover Milan Day Spring Craft Show, which will be held 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Milan Senior and Community Activity Center, 45 Neckel Court. Space is still available for artists. Call 439-1549 to reserve a spot.
