Notification of entries are due April 28, though artworks will not be required for exhibition until the day before the May 5 show.
The show is being planned with the support of the Milan Downtown Development Authority.
"The show last year was quite a success with over 60 entries from a variety of artists," said Darla Arrick, event organizer and owner of Milan's Picture This gallery. "We are making a few changed this year, based on our positive experiences, to fairly award more artworks."
The art contest will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 5 at the Milan Baptist Church and is open to amateur artists ages 16 and older. Works in all art media will be accepted, excluding works submitted last year, and must be considered "family appropriate."
The entry fee is $10 for each item or $25 for the maximum of three entries, which should be dropped off at the church between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. May 4. Artists should include a card with their name, pricing information and a brief description of the piece.
"Tell us the tools and techniques used, where inspiration came from for the artwork and the creative process that was used," Arrick said.
Entry forms are available at Picture This, the Milan Area Chamber of Commerce and Milan District Library and are due April 28 to the Chamber office, 153 W. Main St.
