The replacement of a leaking gas main at Main and Dexter streets will result in some lane closures over the next five to seven days, according to a DTE Energy spokesperson.

Portions of eastbound Main Street and northbound Dexter Street near the railroad tracks will be closed to one lane starting Thursday as repair crews excavate the damaged 8-inch diameter cast-iron gas main.
The crews plan to replace the broken main, which could be buried 6 to 14 feet deep. Service is not expected to be interrupted.
"MichCon has been drilling holes throughout the city looking for gas leaks," said Bob Grostick, the city's building and zoning official.
The DTE Energy spokesperson said the work is not expected to close the intersection at any point.
"We'll do everything we can to minimize the disruption in that area," the spokesperson said.
