Fountain Optometry Family Eye Care, 31 E. Main St., brings to Milan the newest in vision diagnostic systems, plus full optometry services, including frames and lenses, urgent eye care and free infant eye assessments through InfantSEE.
Dr. Kevin Fountain established his new practice in Milan because he saw a need in the community for optometric services.
A member of the Milan Area Chamber of Commerce, Fountain said he and his staff are "committed to providing comprehensive eye care of the highest quality, utilizing the latest technology to provide infant, child and adult vision care."
"We are very fortunate to have Dr. Fountain in town now and welcome the business to Milan," said Norma Smith of the chamber.
Fountain is a member of both the American and Michigan Optometric Associations. He specializes in ocular health and hard-to-fit contacts.
The practice also is a provider for InfantSEE, a national no-cost public health program designed to provide one-time, comprehensive eye assessments to infants 6 through 12 months of age, offering early detection of potential eye and vision problems at no coast regardless of income.
Michelle Wade is the office manager and brings to the practice 13 years experience as an optician.
"We have invested in the Marco Vision Diagnostic System, which compares a patient's vision in three ways, so they are spending less time in the waiting room or shuffling from room to room, and more time with the doctor," he said. "In the past, during the manual eye exam we asked the patient, 'Which is better, one or two?' Now it's automated, faster and more accurate," Fountain said.
