PUBLISHED: February 21, 2008

In the wake of the success of this year's Milan varsity wrestling team, a lot more wrestling is on the horizon at Milan High School.

The Milan Summer Dual Wrestling League kicks off in June for wrestlers in ninth through 12th grades. Matches will be held the first three weeks of June and the middle three weeks in July.

All teams must have their $300 entry fee paid by April 15. For more information on the league, contact Milan varsity wrestling head coach Gary Jonseck at 439-5040 or 1-734-915-4699.

A computation camp with junior high school and high school divisions also will be offered through the summer dual wrestling league. The wrestling program will run the computation camp for extra and individual wrestlers.

The cost is $50 per wrestler for the six week season. Wrestlers will be blocked each week and will get two to three matches per night. At the end of the six weeks, awards will be presented.

The popular Milan Kids Take-Down Tournament and Pig Roast will take place March 28 at the high school. The tournament is open to wrestlers 14 years old and under. Medals for top three finishers will be awarded.

Wrestling will begin at 5 p.m. with the pig roast running from 6 to 8 p.m. Plates are $10 each and proceeds will benefit the Milan wrestling's summer camp program.

The Milan Kids Tournament will be held the following morning at 10 a.m. for wrestlers 14 years old and younger.

For more information on any of the upcoming events, contact Jonseck at 439-5040 or 1-734-915-4699.
