Events on tap for 4-H'ers

In January, the Saline 4-H Farmers Club held its annual recognition dinner at Salem school gym in Ann Arbor. Certificates and membership pins were handed out.

The club also received the community service project award. The evening ended with some basketball and conversation.
Family Fun Day, set from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 24, will be held at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds near Saline. Come join in the fun of games, dancing, euchre and other activities, door prizes and snacks.
A $10 family fee will be collected at the door. Proceeds will benefit 4-H and the Washtenaw County Farm Council.

Spring Achievement will be held April 12 at Liberty School in Saline. This year, there will be two new categories to enter: Wall Hanging Challenge and Menu Planning.
Other classes offered will be in the area of woodworking, photography, demonstrations, clothing, knitting, crocheting, non-wearables, modeling and a talent show. No premiums are given at Spring Achievement, but honors and top awards are given for each category.
Please consider participating in this year's Spring Achievement. There also will be mini-stations for make-and-take items during the afternoon for members, as well as the public, in trying to promote 4-H.
For more information about Spring Achievement, including time and registration forms, see the March/April County Newsletter. Registration forms are due to the office by March 10. The public is welcome to the event and can contact the 4-H office for more information.
Animal weigh-in and tag dates are March 1 for market beef and April 26 for market lambs, hogs and goats at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds.
The next club meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. March 3 at Saline Township Hall.
