Audiobooks are a great way to complete a book and maximize your time in the car. Listening to a book can enrich your mind and help pass the time enjoyably.
The library has a good selection of both fiction and nonfiction, including many best-selling authors. The library's nonfiction new releases include:
"The Bible Experience: The Complete Bible." It's a unique and groundbreaking Bible audio production presented by a stellar cast of popular actors like Samuel L. Jackson, Denzel Washington and Cicely Tyson.
"Geography of Bliss: One Grump's Search for the Happiest Places in the World" is another great new audiobook. The author, Eric Weiner, is an National Public Radio correspondent who has reported from more than 30 countries. To write this far-reaching book, he had to travel to far away places to investigate what makes the citizens reportedly happy.
"Why Mars and Venus Collide" by Dr. John Gray is about improving our relationships by understanding how men and women cope differently with stress and how to deal with it.
On the fiction side, expect many of your favorite bestsellers and new releases such as Robert Parker's "Stranger in Paradise" and "Heir" by Barbara Taylor Bradford.
John Grisham has a new release, a long-awaited legal thriller called "The Appeal." Christian fiction author Karen Kingsbury also has a new release called "Between Sundays."
Audiobooks may be checked out to Milan residents for three weeks. Stop in and see what we have to make your commute more enjoyable.
Upcoming events at the library include:
On Tuesday at 6 p.m., the library will hold a program for adults on bead crafting with local artist Fred Monroe. Call the library to register for the free workshop. All supplies are provided. Space is limited.
In March, the library will begin computer classes to be held on Saturday mornings. Stop in for a brochure or check us out on the Web at www.milan.library.org.
