New mayor fills posts
Seats on the Planning Commission, other local boards filled

Milan City Council last week unanimously approved Mayor Kym Muckler's appointments to a host of committees.

Muckler named Councilman Joe Chapin as the council's representative to the Planning Commission and named former council member Jim Latham to the board. Muckler appointed newcomers Barbara Atkinson and Max Hall to succeed Richard Ender and Edwin Ranson on the Planning Commission. Their terms expire Dec. 31.
Named to the Zoning Board of Appeals were Sue Linton to succeed Betty Sheldon and Brian Schoener to replace Russell Dotson, who was elected to council in November. David Conger was reappointed and Jerroll Adams remained on as an alternate.
Linton's and Conger's terms expire Dec. 31, 2010. Schoener's expires at the end of this year.
Muckler named Joseph Wilkinson, Robert Creal and Councilman Rod Hill to the Downtown Development Authority.
Marilyn Wisener was renamed to a three-year term on the Board of Review.
Shauna Bair and Kim Herzog will join Barbara Gardinier on the Beautification Committee.
Councilman Doug Gilson was named the council's liaison on the Parks and Recreation Board, and Cindy Swope was re-appointed. Michael Carthage was named to succeed Kristen McGraw.
Jerroll Adams, Daniel Wisener and City Administrator Dan Bishop were re-named to the Building and Safety Board. Tom Herzog was also named to fill a vacancy.
Paul Atkinson and Mary Ochalek were renamed to the Police Community Advisory Board, while Ed Swope will succeed Ann Gee.
Council member Martha Churchill was reappointed the council's representative to the historical commission.
